Beds
Just like all our furniture, our beds are designed to withstand general wear and tear. However, we recommend that you follow this advice to keep your bed in top condition for as long as possible, ensuring maximum sleep quality throughout the natural life of your bed.
Caring for Your Bed & Mattress
Handle With Care
Never fold or bend the mattress as this will distort the spring unit. Modern spring interior mattresses cannot be rolled for storage.
Even Support
Sitting on the edge of your mattress for long periods can affect its shape. Avoid this to help prolong its lifespan.
Regular Turning
Frequent turning and plumping reduces natural dips and nesting in spring interior mattresses.
Divan Drawer Storage
The drawers within a drawer divan are designed to hold lightweight items such as bed linen and should not be overloaded.
Getting Used to Your New Bed
Chances are the springs and upholstery in your old bed were not what they used to be, so your new bed may feel different at first. Please allow time for your body to adjust and for the fillings to settle.
Settlement is normal due to modern fillings being more sumptuous than their predecessors and can be minimised by regular turning and rotating.
Protecting Your Mattress
We recommend using a mattress cover to protect it from moisture and spills. Avoid detergents or chemical cleaners, as these may damage the fabric and stitching.
- Don’t sit on the edge of the mattress
- Don’t allow your mattress to get wet
- Don’t use dry-cleaning fluid of any type
- Don’t place a board between mattress and base
- Don’t allow children to jump on the bed
