45 Years at Churchgate: Celebrating a milestone in Langton Furnishers' history

For 45 years this month, Langton Furnishers has proudly called Churchgate home. What stands today as one of the area's longest-established independent furniture retailers is more than just a showroom. It's a testament to family values, hard work, and a commitment to serving generations of customers.

A building with family history

In 1981, the current Churchgate showroom was opened by Mr J. Langton, the second generation of the Langton family business. His vision was to create a purpose-built furniture store that would bring multiple shop locations into one and share the expertise that customers had come to trust all over the county.

45 years later, that same building remains at the heart of Langton Furnishers, welcoming customers through its doors.

Serving generations of families

Over the years, we've had the privilege of helping thousands of customers transform their homes. Many of those customers first visited us decades ago and now return with their children and grandchildren.

Whether it's a first sofa, a dining set for a growing family, or a carefully chosen recliner, we've been honoured to play a small part in so many homes and life milestones.

As fashions and furniture trends have evolved, one thing has remained constant: our dedication to quality products, honest advice, and exceptional customer service.

Adapting through the decades

The furniture industry has changed significantly over the past 45 years. From traditional suites and polished wood furniture to today's contemporary designs and innovative comfort technologies, Langton Furnishers has continued to evolve while staying true to its values.

Our Churchgate showroom has seen countless transformations, but our focus has always remained on offering carefully selected furniture that combines style, comfort, and lasting quality.

Proud to be a family business

As a family-run business, we understand the importance of relationships, trust, and reputation. These principles were established by previous generations of the Langton family and continue to guide us today.

Reaching a 45-year milestone in the same location is something we are incredibly proud of, particularly in an ever-changing retail landscape. It reflects the loyalty of our customers, the dedication of our team, and the support of the local community.

Looking ahead

While we're celebrating the past, we're equally excited about the future. As we mark 45 years at Churchgate, we remain committed to helping customers find furniture they'll love for years to come.

To everyone who has supported Langton Furnishers over the last four and a half decades, thank you. Your loyalty and trust have made this milestone possible.
