Sale vs Clearance - What is the difference?
Sale and Clearance. Terms often used interchangeably in retail, but do in fact hold different meanings. If that is the case, what is the difference and how do you know what to expect from either?
Clearance
What does it mean?
Clearance refers to one-off and sold-as-seen items available to purchase in store only. Clearance items can be found in the store all year round so there is always the opportunity to scout out a bargain.
Why do we have clearance?
We aim to continually keep our showroom fresh, up to date and with all of our own choices of furniture we think, might match what you are looking for. With new stock, changes in fabrics, designs and new releases, this only means that we have to say goodbye every once and a while to our showroom items to make sure there is enough space for the new. These items may also be a discontinued model, fabric or there may have been a revamp to actions/controls which mean that they are no longer representative of what can be made to order.
In its nature this means that clearance items are one-off and sold-as-seen pieces that have mainly been gently used on display in stores. These pieces have been meticulously maintained and are in excellent condition, with only minor wear and tear that comes with being displayed.
What clearance can mean for you?
You are able to enjoy exceptional savings without compromising on quality! Clearance furniture features an extensive range of styles, from modern and contemporary to classic and traditional, all available at brilliant prices. Typically with a faster than usual delivery too, meaning you can enjoy sooner rather than later.
Whether you're looking for a statement sofa, a practical dining table, or a comfortable bed, you're sure to find something that suits your style and budget. You will also find some brilliant savings on leading brand names such as Harrison Spinks, Duresta, Parker Knoll, G Plan, Stressless and more.
How can I spot a clearance items in the showroom?
When browsing in store, look for the tickets which have the words “Reduced To Clear”. If still unsure, please ask one of our sales staff to point you in the right direction.
How long have I got to decide whether the clearance item is right for me?
The nature of clearance items is that they are one-off products, so you have to be quick.. As once they’re gone, they’re gone! Even if it is a manufacturer and model still available, we cannot offer the same clearance price on a made to order model.
Sale
What does it mean?
A Sale is a type of promotion where we offer discounts on products for a limited period of time. During the sales, we offer a saving off our recommended retail prices across sofas, chairs, dining tables, beds and bedrooms, and other furniture items. You can find popular brands such as Himolla, Sherborne, G Plan, Hypnos and more offering great savings.
When are the sales?
Our Sales can take place at any time of the year, often seasonally, such as Winter Sale or Spring Sale. These can last for anything from a few days, to weeks, or even a couple of months. For dates, please ask in store to ensure you do not miss out.
How can I spot a sales items in the showroom?
When browsing in store, look for the tickets which have the words “Sale” and a distinctive red surrounding border compared to our usual blue surrounding border.
Is the sale on just what I see?
No! Let your design and wildest dreams take over! The great benefit of a sale over a clearance item is that you can tailor your order exactly how you like it. Whether you fancy leather or fabric, static or electric reclining, two seater or four seater, high back or low back, grey or green, it is all for you to decide! Your purchase will be made to order and sent over to the manufacturer to build your dream product to be delivered back to us for you in the coming weeks. There will be a lead time wait but for perfection it is worth it!
